Dutch U25-team wins silver!

Thursday, August 16, 2018

The Dutch dressage U25-team has won a beautiful silver medal at the European Championships in Exloo. Germany was slightly too big for the Dutch girls. Charlotte Fry won the test and took the other members of the British squad to the third place and won the bronze medal. Head coach Alex van Silfhout was pleased with the second place in the team test. “All girls did their very best. We had some bad luck but we were lucky to get the silver medal!”

Denise Nekeman was with 72,67% the best Dutch rider. She was placed 5th. “Denise had a good test with very strong moments in trot and canter. The piaffe was very good, but in passage they left some points.” Dutch Champion U25 Jeanine Nieuwehuis rode TC Athene, and got just behind Denise. Maxime van der Vlist got placed 17th, scoring a bit lower than usual. Carlijn Huberts and Watoeshi had the lowest score for the Dutch team. “Watoeshi was tense and Carlijn did what she could, but it wasn’t their day”, Alex says.
