EC Lamprechtshausen: Anna Meulendijks wins silver

Lamprechtshausen, Austria

Anna Meulendijks can add another medal to her collection. This time she won individual silver at the European Championships for U25 in Austria.

The KNHS talent squad member scored 74,698% in the individual test and only allowed the German Lisa-Maria Klossinger to pass her on the rankinglist. ‘Today was so much better’, the Dutch rider says smiling. ‘The tension we had yesterday was supposedly caused by the rain and puddles, but today the weather was calmer. I am so proud of my horse and that we managed to ride such a nice test together!’

The other Dutch riders also did well, because all the other three members of the Oranje team landed in the top 10. Denise Nekeman rode Boston STH into fifth position, Maxime van der Vlist took seventh place and Jeanine Nieuwenhuis with TC Athene came in ninth.

The European Championships in Lamprechtshausen was supposed to have a grand finale with the freestyle, but unfortunately the bad weather spoiled it once again. The failing music equipment forced the organisation to cancel the competition. A big let down for all riders, who have trained for this moment the entire year. There will be no European Champion in the freestyle this year.
